Grey’s Anatomy Spin-off Will Be ‘More Fun’

June 19, 2008
Grey’s Anatomy spin-off Private Practice kicks off in Ireland next Tuesday (24th June). A special catchup episode will air before the first episode at 8:05pm.

FANS of the sizzling medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy are in for a treat as a brand new spin-off from the series, Private Practice is about to hit Irish TV screens.

Kicking off on Tuesday next, the new slice of medical drama comes highly recommended from the US where it has been commissioned for a second series.

And like the original Seattle based series, Private Practice promises to keep audiences entertained with its own mix of drama, sex and comedy.

Leaving the rain-drenched surroundings of Seattle Grace Hospital behind, the new series follows fiery leading lady, Kate Walsh, as her character, Dr Addison Montgomery heads for new adventures on the west coast.

And according to the writer herself, Grey’s Anatomy hit-maker Shonda Rhimes, the new medical drama is more than a chip off the old block: “The tone is brighter and there is a little bit more fun to be had.”

Private Practice starts its run on RTE2 on Tuesday next at 9pm, with a special catch-up programme on beforehand at 8.05pm.

Chandra Wilson Supports National Denim Day

June 5, 2008

Chandra Wilson (Dr. Bailey) & Tim Daly (Dr. Pete Wilder in Private Practice) have become ambassadors for the Lee National Denim Day.

Taken from the Nationa Denim Day site

Denim Day® is proud to have Chandra Wilson (Dr. Miranda Bailey of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy) and Tim Daly (Dr. Pete Wilder of ABC’s Private Practice) as our 2008 Lead Ambassadors. They’re two of the country’s hottest on-screen doctors, but in real life they both are happy to help fight breast cancer

Leading up to Denim Day, you will see Wilson and Daly appearing in print public service announcements and talking about their participation in various media interviews to help us spread the word nationwide. Our goal is to raise more money in 2008 than ever before and continue the important work of the Women’s Cancer Programs of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF).

Wilson is excited to lend her voice to the campaign this year because cancer has deeply affected her family. Hear more about Chandra’s story.

“Six of the eight women in my immediate family have been affected by cancer,” said Wilson. “Being part of this campaign gives me a way to fight back—anything I can do to help protect my daughters from this experience is a cause I am honored to be a part of.”

Daly plays a unique role as a man speaking out for what is often considered a women’s disease. Hear more about Tim’s story.

“As a son, husband and father, the fight against breast cancer is no less important to me than it is to the women in my life that I love dearly and the thousands across this country who fight this disease every year.”

Together, they are helping us fight back against this disease in honor of their loved ones. We thank them for their time and commitment and are hopeful that together we can make this the biggest Denim Day yet.
