UK: When Will Channel 5 Broadcast Season 4?

April 30, 2009

By the Summer Living will have finally caught up with the US pace but what about Channel 5? Channel 5 have so far only broadcast up to season 3. I emailed them this week to find out if there if there are any plans on broadcasting season 4 and this is the reply I recieved…

We have acquired the broadcast rights to Series 4 of this programme but
no transmission dates are scheduled at the moment. As further
information becomes available it will be released for publication in the
local and national press. We recommend keeping an eye on the television
listings magazines or contacting us again at a later date when we may
have more details.

I also asked if there were any plans to broadcast Private Practice yet again more bad news…

We do not currently hold the broadcast rights to Private Practice.
Nevertheless, your interest in seeing this series on one of our channels
has been noted in the Viewer Enquiries Report. This is circulated
throughout the company and will be seen by our Acquisitions Team.

Grey’s Anatomy Cast Talk About Season Finale

June 3, 2008
**Spoilers for those not at US pace!**

TV Guide managed to catch up with some of the Grey’s Anatomy cast at the Butterfly Ball and they chatted about real life partners and the season 4 finale. Here’s an excerpt from the article. To read the full thing follow the jump.

As far as romance on Grey’s, Knight was as surprised as anyone by George’s kiss with Lexie at the end of the finale. “What was up with that?” he asked, saying he has no idea if a bona fide romance will follow. “But I love working with Chyler [Leigh]. She’s really funny and it’s really fun to work with her. I like the dorky actor ‘craft’ part of it, where you discuss the scene and so does she. She’s a cool person.”

Knight also seemed confused about the the controversial — and now ended — George/Izzie affair, saying, “It kind of died quickly, didn’t it? They had them fall in love really quickly and then tore them apart really quickly. It just seemed to be such a weird, fast event.”

James Pickens was delighted to be reunited in the Grey’s finale with his TV wife, Adele, played by Loretta Devine. “Yeah, we got him some action for a change,” he crowed. “He got a chance to get some, so that’s all good!” He joked that his character’s marital status depends on the availability of Devine, who also stars in Eli Stone.

As for what’s going on next season, Pickens said, “I think we’re doing 26 episodes. The network’s got to get back what they lost during the strike.”

Grey’s Anatomy To Return With Double Bill

May 22, 2008

Good news for viewers in Ireland!

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ is set to return to RTÉ Two for a fourth season on 3 June, with a special double bill episode.

Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey, Sandra Oh and Katherine Heigl will all return to reprise their respective characters, while there is a big surprise in store for Pompeo’s character Meredith.

**SPOILER ALERT**

The new season gets underway with an episode entitled ‘A Change Is Gonna Come’, as Meredith returns from Christina’s (Sandra Oh) honeymoon to be greeted by her own group of interns. Amongst them is Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh), Meredith’s half-sister whom she has never met.

The special double bill continues with episode two in the series, ‘Love/Addiction’, which sees Meredith trying to avoid having a heart-to-heart with Lexie.

Both episodes will be screened from 9pm on Tuesday 3 June on RTÉ Two.
